What you do in Fairhaven Hollow

One good puzzle a day

Each day brings one hand-made weather puzzle. Rain on the fields, sun the meadow, blow the clouds along, and fill the reservoir without flooding the mill. Rewind is free and unlimited, so experimenting is half the fun.

Villagers who remember

Old Bram, Tilly the baker, Miller Odo and friends each have a quirk that makes good weather better or bad weather softer. Every day ends with a choice card: two options, one funny decision, and consequences that sometimes turn up days later.

Cozy, never cruel

About five minutes a day. No timers, no streaks, no guilt, no game over. Bad weather means a soggy mill and a grumpy baker, and time away from the valley never costs you anything.

A first look Early prototype

These screenshots are from an early prototype with placeholder art. The look and the puzzles will keep changing before launch.

  • Early prototype: the Day 6 weather puzzle, a grid of fields, forest, village, river and reservoir tiles with a rain cloud, and Sun, Rain, Wind and Rest buttons.
Day 6: fill the reservoir without flooding the mill.
  • Early prototype: end-of-day results panel reading 'Lovely work, spirit!' with three stars.
    Dusk: stars, harvest and coins.
  • Early prototype: a choice card asking 'A weather suggestion box?' with the options 'Install the box' and 'I am the suggestion box'.
Today's choice: a weather suggestion box?

About

Fairhaven Hollow is made by one person. I came up with the idea, the village, the characters and the puzzles, and I playtest and decide everything. AI tools write most of the code and help with design work, because I'm not a programmer. Using them is how a solo, non-coding developer could make the game I wanted to play.
